I wonder what class it would run in SCCA? A few mods to my ST puts it in SMF where the cars (2000 pound civics that are basically race cars) typically run 5-6 seconds faster than what the best driven ST would in stock class.

That’s an incredible deal provided the thing isn’t completely beat to shit. Problem is that it’s getting nearly impossible to find OEM parts so if it does need some attention in the future (which it will because it’s a tracked SVT car) you might run into some trouble.

even so what can you buy for 2k and take to a track tomorrow, a beat to shit NA Miata? this car is complete and looks to have a bunch of expensive parts. I just hate when people list race cars and neglect all the stuff you should talk about since it is still a car. for instance is there any semblance of an interior? any rust or is it completely thrashed? one picture and 12 videos don’t sell a car. idk this car is ridiculously cheap for even a beat to shit track car and it may still be able to be a street car as well

I didn't know that parts for the svt focus have become hard to find. Glad I didn't pull the trigger on one 4 years ago.

Hell yeah NP!

I would have the timing assembly done ASAP, unless the owner has receipts for it from less than 5 years or 80k ago.

The diff and installation are more than what they want for the entire car by the way.

That was probably a good decision, Ford doesn’t make parts for cars older than ten years so you basically have to pick from what the dealership has left over or go aftermarket and pray everything fits properly. Only 14k SVTF’s were made so it’s not like there was a huge surplus to begin with. Even simple stuff like spark plugs are a pain, I had to ship some over from England just to ensure I was getting the right ones.

You really couldn’t do much better for $2k, especially since similar vintage SVT cars usually trade for twice that at least. The lack of pictures is concerning but with all the mods and upgrades $2k is a great price, you could make double that back on the forums parting it out.’

And you can definitely drive these cars on the street, I’ve dailied mine for the past four years. That one has stock suspension so it will still ride semi-decently but I’d love to see what he did to the interior besides the seat and cage.

that seat alone is a death sentence on the street. also he has no mention of an intercooler upgrade. I know on my st the intercooler is the weak point along with the lsd that prevents this car from being track capable

Wow you’re right about the seat, I didn’t realize Kirkeys were that hardcore; some of them just look like fabric draped over sheetmetal. The SVT’s engine is N/A (basically a regular 2.0 Zetec with a Cosworth head and upgraded internals) and, from what the forums seem to think, tracks perfectly fine with stock cooling so it shouldn’t be an issue, especially with the Contour thermostat.

I had no idea ST’s didn’t come with an LSD, especially for a ~250hp car. LSD’s are a common upgrade on the SVT cars too so this guy’s already ahead of the game with the Torsen.

As long as you’re only autocrossing it and not daily driving the thing, yeah. Those cars were built like shit.
